One Goal of This Journal

Wednesday, June 8th, 2005

There are several goals I have relating to this online journal. One of them is to get people to read it, even if just a little bit here and there. I hope to post links to some good stuff on the web, and short little posts about my experiences. If I don’t find it interesting, you probably won’t, so I won’t post it. (like its really hot out, I sweat a lot, or I played frisbee again today) Those things should be kept to one’s self. But, things other people might find funny, interesting, or good to know, I will post. For example, people might want to know that the burito’s at Qdoba are good, right?

Ok, I lied. Maybe I will post a few personal things that aren’t that interesting, but only once, and I’ll try to keep it short.

Project Almost Ready

Wednesday, June 8th, 2005

After a month of development, the project Chris and I have been working on is almost ready for public viewing. Yey! More details to come. Maybe I’ll even give you the link if you ask nicely.

Qdoba > Big Ten

Wednesday, June 8th, 2005

Went to Qdoba today with the other intern, Chris. The chicken burito was better than Big Ten Burito. Qudos… (get it? It’s spelled like Qdoba…. ok, nm, Im just weird)

Firefox SSL Weirdness – DISABLED YOU TELL ME?

Wednesday, June 8th, 2005

So, I had this problem with Firefox. It was really weird. When I tried to visit a secure site, it would pop up a thing saying that SSL was disabled… but it WASN’T as far as I could tell from the options box and all available menus.

I tried reinstalling it, but apparently it kept my settings.

To fix it I created a new profile and used that by running “firefox.exe -profilemanager” in the Start->Run window thingy.

Grr… that was annoying to have to use IE without my precious tabs and such. I’m glad that’s over.

Shakespeare in the Arb

Monday, June 6th, 2005

Shakespeare in the Arb sounds like a cool little adventure. Aparently you go and watch a Midsummer Night’s Dream while walking around the arb. I’m thinking they walk to another location when the change scene… maybe. Anyway… I’m going to find out.

UPDATE:
So, Beth and I went there today (June 5th), but we were a tad late… and they were “sold out”. Even though there weren’t seats or anything, I guess they can only fit so many in some of the areas of the arb. So… lesson here is to go early to buy your tickets. They open at 5:30 and shows start at 6:30.

UPDATE 2:
Click on Shakespeare if you REALLY want to read the play:
Shakespeare

UPDATE 3:
So, we went again, and this time we got in. It was pretty good. I think it ended on Sunday, so you might have to wait until next year to see it. It will probably be a different Shakespear. play.

Ultimate Frisbee

Sunday, June 5th, 2005

So, I’ve been playing Ultimate Frisbee for the past few summers, and a little bit during the year. I love it. We play informally 3 times a week. No set teams. Its pretty much whatever people are wearing with a slight influence of the skill level of the players. Don’t know what it is?? Well then, find out what Ultimate Frisbee is all about, and then contact me to play with us in Ann Arbor!

Party Night

Saturday, June 4th, 2005

Last night was pretty sweet. I was invited to two parties. I saw a ton of people I knew and had a really good time. A list of people I saw and a little message to them.

  • Brendon – dude… we chased a rabbit… highlight of the night
  • Nick – Theanks for comming along and letting us know about Jnnifer’s party between parties.
  • Frankie – Nice to officially meet you.
  • Mallika – Awsome party, thanks for inviting me… so anti-sausage-fest. I haven’t figured out what to call that yet.
  • Kevin – Thanks for the poker money Thursday… good to see you again.
  • Jennifer – A shout out to an awsome host!
  • Rebecca – Wow… wasn’t expecting to see you there. Good times. I had no idea what you were dancing though.
  • Brock – yarr… alcohol and computer speak mix well
  • Sara – Thanks for inviting me. Too bad I couldn’t have been there earlier. I’ll bet the party was rockin’
  • Tammy – I saw you! I think I said hi.
  • Jeff – Same as Tammy… btw, where did you guys go??
  • Michelle – Good to see you again… hehe
  • Anthony – You are always where its at. Awsome!
  • Natalie – Great to see you again… you in AA?

Money is Good

Friday, June 3rd, 2005

This is my first personal post in a while. However, I’m not going to rush into things, as I need sleep tonight as well.

I have only gotten about 5 hours per night this week. Enough… but I can afford more… as in I have more time in my day. I don’t have homework or that many obligations. I’ve just been spending my time on the computer.

But, what I really wanted to say was that I won $40 playing poker over the last two days. That was pretty sweet.

The first night I went to my friend’s Jeremy’s house for a going away pool party in Bloomfield Hills for him and my other friend Dan. We went swimming, had pizza, chips, pop, etc., played hold’em, and then at the end of the night they played Halo 2, but I had to leave. Work… M-F 8:30-5. Doh!

The second I actually heard about from Jeremy. Another guy in HKN, the president in the Fall hosted in AA.

So, I have to go to work tomorrow… catch ya later. I’m pumped for parties this weekend! Just give me a shout out if you wanna come.

Here’s the keyboard format I use now. I have yet to test if it is faster than QWERTY, but I’d be up for the challage to race.
